Can’t believe I forgot about Mardi Gras yesterday. And the city that made it famous.
I’ve never been to New Orleans, but I got a fine dose of the city, circa 1907, in COMING THROUGH SLAUGHTER, Michael Ondaatje’s gorgeous novel about Buddy Bolden. Man must have been one hell of a trumpet player. Ondaatje is one hell of a writer.
