The characters are so real, it hurts. You can't use dialogue to show emotions when there is so much guilt keeping people, like Amadeo, from being brave enough to express their true thoughts. The author shows the pain of this communication deficit in many ways. It is a magnificent story, and I can't wait to read what the author writes next.
